Recently restored, this pleasant Grade II listed building offers a venue for meetings, conferences and small functions. The Old Court House features a seventeenth century barrelled ceiling and original fireplace.
This is a unique venue for business meetings, small conferences or functions near Somerton, Street and Glastonbury in Somerset, for up to thirty people.
The Old Court House has been sympathetically adapted to reflect its age and history but provides for 21st century conference / function needs. In the not so distant past, tenants of the Kingweston Estate gathered here quarterly to pay their rents. Further back in time it is said that this building served the area as a Court House and some of the Bloody Assizes, a notorious period in the history of Somerset, were held here.
Situated in the heart of South Somerset, Lower Farm has the advantage of easy access from the A303 and A37 in particular and directions from the M5 (J23) can also be supplied. There is ample off road parking.
Both private and business functions are welcome and every effort is made to accommodate the requirements of individual groups.
High quality bed and breakfast rooms may be reserved (subject to availability) in the adjacent - farmhouse B&B - accommodation.
Some catering can be provided and visitors are welcome to supply their own wine with no corkage charge - Lower Farm does not have a licence for serving alcoholic drinks.
It should be noted that The Old Court House is a first floor room and because of the listed status of the building, disabled access is regrettably limited.
Prices for accommodation include breakfast - up to 4 people can stay at any one time.
